Poor outcomes in education are a core indicator of an individual experiencing poverty in later life.
The Gowanbank Hub Crisis Support Center believe that employment is one of the best protections against poverty, deprivation, and Social Isolation.
By supporting individuals to engage and progress through education into working life will play an integral part in reducing the risk of individuals experiencing poverty in later life.
What We Do
- We support educational engagement and attainment (including a meeting of parents and wider family members)
- Addresses the financial barriers to education and training.
- Engaging parents in schools
- Apprenticeships and practical placement learning through partnership
“The Hub Crisis Support Center worked with my children’s school and the education board to help me get my kids back to school after two years because of bullying. My volunteer support worker even helped me get a grant to cover new uniform.”
